White Sox place Floyd on DL, activate Humber
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Gavin Floyd on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow tendinitis and activated right-hander Philip Humber.
Floyd threw 7 2/3 scoreless innings in his last outing on July 7 versus Toronto. He is 7-8 with a 4.54 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 17 starts this season.
This is Floyd's first trip to the disabled list in his career.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Humber, scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, had been on the DL since June 22 with a right elbow flexor strain.
Heading into Tuesday's action, Humber is 3-4 with a 6.01 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 12 starts for the White Sox this season. He threw a perfect game on April 21 against Seattle.
