Sunday was a good day for Oakland Athletics rookie catcher Carson Blair.
Playing in place of 2015 All-Star Stephen Vogt (recovering from an injury sustained last week), Blair picked up his first career base hit in the seventh inning against Texas Rangers left-hander Andrew Faulkner, and did so with authority: He turned around on an inside pitch, blasting it deep over the wall in left-center field for a home run.
Afterward, his A's teammates rewarded him with a pretty great silent treatment before erupting with enthusiasm.

As Jane Lee of MLB.com tweeted after the game, which the A's lost the game 12-4 to fall to 61-82 and ensure themselves a losing season for the first time in a while, the moment was pretty special for Blair:
