Virginia Tech beats Boston College 71-56
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}BOSTON (AP) Seth Allen scored 14 points and Justin Bibbs scored 12 with 10 rebounds to lead Virginia Tech to a 71-56 victory over Boston College on Tuesday night and send the Eagles to their 15th consecutive loss.
The Hokies (15-13, 7-8 Atlantic Coast Conference) had lost five straight road games.
Eli Carter scored 19 points for BC (7-21, 0-15) and Dennis Clifford had 13 points with 12 rebounds. The Eagles trailed 19-18 in the first before giving up 13 consecutive points.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}BC had beaten Virginia Tech four straight times. With three games left in the regular season, the Eagles are guaranteed their worst conference record since joining the ACC in 2005.
Only a few hundred people were there for a 9 p.m. start on a cold night with a sprinkling of snow falling in Chestnut Hill. Among them was Boston Celtics forward Jae Crowder, who played for Virginia Tech coach Buzz Williams at Marquette.
