Vikings to feature a 'Legacy Ship' outside new stadium
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Minnesota Vikings announced the addition of a "Legacy Ship" to Medtronic Plaza at U.S. Bank Stadium on their official website this week. The ship, which has a built-in video board, is supposed to serve as a "sculptural landmark" for the NFL's newest, state-of-the-art venue.

The idea for a ship at the stadium stems from the one Minnesota has at the team's training facility.
"The Viking ship located outside the team's Winter Park training facility has always been a favorite stop for visiting Vikings fans," Vikings owner Mark Wilf said, via the team's official website. "We wanted to recreate the feature in a significantly enhanced way at U.S. Bank Stadium in order to give Vikings fans a new game day ritual and a perfect welcome to their unprecedented game experience."
