Vick stays positive, motivated despite being set to open season on Jets' sideline
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Michael Vick says he's a better quarterback than he was last year, the result of improved study habits and solid play during the preseason.
Despite feeling good about his abilities, Vick is set to start the season on the sidelines with Geno Smith leading the New York Jets' offense against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
Vick said Friday that it has been "a different adjustment," but he understood "the sacrifices" he'd need to make when he signed with New York in March.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Vick says he is working hard to stay ready in case the team needs him to play, but has been impressed by Smith. He adds that preseason rankings that had Smith ranked last among NFL starting QBs are wrong, and the number "may jump, times five."
