Vanderbilt's Kedren Johnson suspended from school, while Kevin Bright signs with German team
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Vanderbilt guard Kedren Johnson has been suspended from the university for a year, leaving the Commodores without their leading scorer from last season.
Johnson said Monday in a letter released by the university that he's been suspended "for a mistake I made, the result of using some very poor judgment." Johnson said the suspension resulted from an action that occurred near the end of the 2012-13 school year.
Johnson averaged 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists as a 6-foot-4 sophomore last season.

Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings says Bright wanted to be near his ailing mother.
