Tulane edges past Southern University late with a 79-73 victory

Tulane (2-0) led 38-37 at the half and maintained it through the first 7 minutes of second half, until a 3-point from Southern' Malcolm Miller.
Tulane quickly fell behind 68-61 after a 9-1 run by the Jaguars. The Green Wave reclaimed the lead with 3 minutes left with a bucket from Jay Hook, during an 8-3 run.

The Jaguars (0-3) lost their first two games on the road and were led by Malcolm Miller with 18 points and eight rebounds. Southern has not beaten Tulane in seven tries.
