Tottenham's Dawson to miss rest of EPL season

Tottenham defender Michael Dawson ruptured 12 weeks, ruling him out for the rest of the English Premier League season and possibly Euro 2012.

The 28-year-old Dawson was injured Wednesday in Tottenham's 3-1 victory over Stevenage in the FA Cup and was stretchered off the field. Tests on Thursday revealed the extent of the damage, Tottenham announced.

Dawson has helped Tottenham to third place in the Premier League this season, and could have earned a spot on the England squad for the Euro 2012 finals. He was on the World Cup team in 2010, but did not play in the tournament.

The center back has earned four caps for England.
