Toothless Steelers defense looking to mix things up against surging Jets
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor says the team's struggling defense still has some swagger despite its 0-4 start.
Pittsburgh is last in the NFL in sacks, and has yet to force a turnover heading into Sunday's game against the New York Jets (3-2). Taylor says his confidence remains high and it's too soon for critics to write off the season.
Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin is tweaking the starting lineup searching for a spark. Third-year defensive end Cam Heyward will start against New York. The former first-round pick says he's more comfortable now than he's been at any point in his career.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Heyward says the big thing for the Steelers is to have more success on first down. If opponents get into long-yardage situations, Heyward says the defense can be more aggressive.
