Tennessee 3rd baseman Matt Duffy hits for cycle
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Tennessee senior Matt Duffy has become just the second Volunteers player to hit for the cycle.
The third baseman from Milton, Mass., was 4-of-6 with a career-high three runs scored and four RBIs in Tennessee's 18-4 victory against New Orleans on Wednesday night. Duffy had a double in the first inning, a triple in the fourth, a home run in the fifth and a single in the eighth.
Duffy says he knows his performance was a once-in-a-lifetime event and says the ball felt as big as a beach ball while he was hitting Wednesday.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Chris Burke, who played six seasons in the majors, is the only other Vols player to hit for the cycle, doing so against Vanderbilt on May 11, 2001.
