TCU DE Devote Fields being investigated for allegedly punching, threatening girlfriend

Police are investigating whether TCU defensive end Devonte Fields pointed a gun at his former girlfriend and punched her in the head.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram (http://bit.ly/1nxGCbs ) reports that 20-year-old Haley Brown's right check was swollen and she had a cut under her eye when officers arrived at a Fort Worth home early Sunday.

Police on Tuesday said that no charges have been filed and Fields, the Big 12's preseason defensive player of the year, has not been arrested.

Brown told police that she and Fields dated for two years and had broken up June 1. Brown said she didn't want to press charges but officers told her a report and family violence packet must be completed.

A call to a TCU football spokesman was not immediately returned.
