T-Wolves' Love breaks hand, out 6-to-8 weeks
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star forward Kevin Love is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks after breaking his right hand on Wednesday.
Love broke the third and fourth metacarpal in his hand during a morning workout. The four-year pro will be examined by Dr. Andy Weiland, a hand specialist at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, on Thursday.
Ironically, Love fractured his left hand during the preseason in mid-October of 2009 and sat out the first 18 games of the subsequent regular season before returning on Dec. 4. Weiland also performed the surgery for that injury.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Love finished fourth in the NBA with a career-high 26.0 points-per-game scoring average and was second overall in rebounding (13.3 avg.) last season, garnering his second consecutive All-Star nod. The 6-foot-10 UCLA product led the league with an average of 15.2 rebounds per game in 2010-11.
