Strahm's 83-yard TD kickoff return triggers Morehead State's 49-14 romp over Davidson
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Cyrus Strahm returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown to break a 7-7 tie and ignite a run of 42 consecutive points by Morehead State in a 49-14 rout of Davidson Saturday.
The Eagles (3-6, 2-4 Pioneer League) got two rushing touchdowns apiece from Rees Macshara and Blake Stanley. Stanley's first touchdown, a 6-yarder, made it 21-7 early in the second quarter. Macshara, who totaled 126 yards rushing, had scored Morehead State's first touchdown on a 15-yard run.
After an early interception, the Eagles' Zach Lewis completed 20 of 30 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Nine completions went to Donte Sawyer for 128 yards.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}For Davidson (1-8, 1-5), Jonathan Carkhuff became the Wildcats' all-time pass completions leader with 795. He was 22 of 41 for 177 yards. The record-breaker came on a 36-yard scoring pass to Lanny Funsten for Davidson's first touchdown. Carkhuff also threw three interceptions.
