Steelers select Florida State linebacker Vince Williams in 6th round of NFL draft
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Pittsburgh Steelers have selected Florida State linebacker Vince Williams in the sixth round of the NFL draft.
The 6-foot-1, 233 lbs. Williams is the second linebacker taken by the Steelers in this year's draft. Pittsburgh chose Jarvis Jones of Georgia in the first round.
Williams endured a series of injuries at Florida State but recorded a career-high 6.5 tackles for loss as a senior. He improved his draft stock during pre-draft workouts and gives the Steelers some help at inside linebacker.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Steelers are set with Lawrence Timmons and Larry Foote as starters but there is little behind them. Sean Spence, a third-round pick in the 2012 Draft, remains out indefinitely while recovering from a serious knee injury.
