Spain's Pedro hopes defending World Cup champions can quickly adapt to heat in Brazil

Striker Pedro Rodriguez says he hopes defending World Cup champion Spain can quickly adapt to the Brazilian weather at the World Cup.

Pedro said at a news conference Thursday he found the weather unfavorable last year when his team played in Brazil at the Confederation Cup.

The Spaniards arrived in Washington on Monday and face El Salvador on Saturday in their last tuneup game before heading to Brazil.

Spain plays its Group B opener against the Netherlands on June 13 in Salvador, then takes on Chile and Australia.
