SOCHI SCENE: Bronze Headstand
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}After his silver in downhill, Christof Innerhofer couldn't stop screaming in delight.
When he added a bronze in super-combined Friday, the colorful Italian skier performed a headstand on the podium.
Innerhofer suffers from so much back pain, he doesn't even train during the summer anymore.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Somehow, though, Innerhofer tied with silver medalist Ivica Kostelic for the third-fastest slalom run in the super-combi. Not bad for a racer who hasn't entered a World Cup slalom in more than two years.
"I didn't believe in myself," said Innerhofer, who stood eighth after the downhill leg. "I didn't think I could race that well in slalom. It was more or less a miracle."
If Innerhofer wins Sunday's super-G, he'll match his haul from the 2011 world championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, when he won a medal of each color.
