Rutten sacked by PSV
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}PSV Eindhoven confirmed on Monday that the club has fired manager Fred Rutten following a run of three successive defeats.
Sunday's 3-1 loss to NAC came after a 4-2 defeat against Valencia in the Europa League and a 6-2 thrashing at the hands of Twente.
Former PSV player Phillip Cocu will take charge of the team for the rest of the season along with Ernest Faber.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Rutten arrived at PSV in 2009 from Schalke and led the club to successive third-place finishes in his first two seasons.
Despite the poor run of form, Rutten leaves PSV just four points from the top of the league.
