Rutgers board holding private meeting amid sports scandal
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) Rutgers University officials say they do not expect an announcement after a closed-door Board of Governors meeting held amid the latest scandal to hit the school's sports program.
The Board of Governors began a closed session meeting late Friday morning with the stated intention of discussing ''athletics matters and anticipated or pending litigation.'' Only a handful of board members were there in person.
University spokesman Greg Trevor says the university would not put out a statement later.

The school is also probing whether football coach Kyle Flood improperly contacted a teacher about the grades of one of the players before he was arrested and kicked off the team.
