Royals release Bruce Chen
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals said Friday they have released pitcher Bruce Chen.
Chen, 37, went 2-4 with a 7.45 ERA in 13 games for the Royals this season, including seven starts, before he was designated for assignment on Aug. 29.
The veteran left-hander has pitched for 10 teams in his 16-year MLB career, going 82-80 with a 4.58 ERA in 398 games, including 225 starts.
