Rose, Bryant named NBA Players of the Week
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose and Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant have been named the Eastern and Western Conference players of the week, respectively, for games played January 9 through January 15.
Rose averaged 24.0 points and 9.3 assists in 38.8 minutes in four games as the Bulls ripped off 5 straight victories. Rose recorded two double-doubles this past week, including a 31-point, 11-assist performance in a 111-100 victory over the Timberwolves.
Bryant helped the Lakers to a 3-1 week, leading the league with a 43.0 point average. Bryant put on a show with four straight 40-plus point performances, all while nursing an injured right wrist.
