Rockies' Arenado breaks finger
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado left Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves with a fractured left middle finger.
Arenado suffered the injury while sliding head-first on a close play at second base. He led off the second inning by hitting a line drive off the left-field wall and was nearly tagged out after a strong throw by Justin Upton.
Second baseman Dan Uggla made a heads-up play to flip to shortstop Andrelton Simmons to try to get Arenado.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Braves challenged the safe call and it was upheld.
Arenado eventually scored on a Jordan Pacheco groundout, but Charlie Culberson took over at third base in the bottom of the second.
The 23-year-old Arenado set a club record with a 28-game hitting streak earlier this season.
