Robert Griffin III takes 1st 11-on-11 snaps at Redskins camp, runs 16 plays vs. scout team

Robert Griffin III has taken his first 11-on-11 snaps at Washington Redskins training camp.

The quarterback ran 16 plays with the first-string offense Wednesday against a scout-team defense. He completed 7 of 10 passes with an interception.

Griffin had been limited to 7-on-7 drills during camp as he works his way back from reconstructive knee surgery. Coach Mike Shanahan's cautious approach has tested Griffin's patience, and Griffin has lobbied unsuccessfully to accelerate the process and play in the preseason.

Griffin wore the familiar black brace on his right knee during the drills. He moved well in the pocket, although he didn't face much of a pass rush.

Shanahan said Griffin remains on pace to start the regular season opener, barring a setback.
