Steelers receiver Martavis Bryant will not make his 2015 debut Monday night in San Diego, according to a report.

Ross Jones of FOX Sports reported that Bryant tweaked his knee during the week in practice, and will likely be inactive against the Chargers. The Steelers don't have to add Bryant to the 53-man roster until he is ready to return. Keeping him on the shelf prevents Pittsburgh from having to free up a roster spot for Bryant, who just finished serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Bryant was expected to give Steelers quarterback Michael Vick another viable deep threat alongside Antonio Brown. Bryant caught eight touchdown passes in 10 games as a rookie last season, averaging 21.1 yards per catch.
