Report: Browns extend LB Gocong
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Cleveland Browns signed linebacker Chris Gocong to a contract extension Wednesday.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Gocong signed a three-year extension, with ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting the deal to be worth $16.8 million.
Current Browns general manager Tom Heckert was Philadelphia's vice president of player personnel when the Eagles made Gocong a third-round pick in 2003.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Heckert traded for Gocong prior to the 2010 campaign. Through three games this season, the outside linebacker has recorded nine tackles. He has tallied 253 career tackles, including 6 1/2 sacks.
