Red Wings give Howard six-year extension
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Detroit Red Wings signed goaltender Jimmy Howard to a six-year contract extension on Tuesday.
The deal is reportedly worth $31.8 million, according to TSN.ca.
Howard, who is playing in the final season of a two-year, $4.5 million contract, has posted a 17-12-6 record with a 2.31 GAA, .920 save percentage and three shutouts this season for the Red Wings, who are fighting to make the playoffs.

The 29-year-old has a 127-66-25 record with a 2.39 GAA and .917 save percentage in 228 career games with Detroit.
