{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Rays recalled right-hander Jeremy Hellickson from the minors, in order to take the mound Saturday against the Boston Red Sox.
Hellickson had been optioned to Double-A Montgomery on July 13, in order to give him more time to rehab from offseason elbow surgery which had limited him to one start this year.
The 27-year-old had gone 12-10 with a 5.17 earned run average in 31 starts last season.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}To make room on the roster, the club designated pitcher Juan Carlos Oviedo for assignment. The pitcher formerly known as Leo Nunez went 3-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 32 appearances for Tampa in 2014.
