Ravens' Rice among AFC players of the week

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and San Diego Chargers kick returner Richard Goodman have been named AFC players of the week for Week 17 of the NFL season.

Rice took home the offensive award by totaling 191 yards and two long touchdowns on 24 carries in the Ravens' 24-16 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals to close out the regular season and clinch Baltimore's first division crown since 2006. His touchdown runs came on rushes of 70 and 51 yards.

The fourth-year running back earned his third career weekly award while finishing the regular season with 1,364 rushing yards and an NFL-best 2,068 yards from scrimmage.

Polamalu registered two tackles, one interception and three passes defensed in the Steelers' 13-9 victory over the Cleveland Browns to receive the defensive honor. His interception in the game was the 29th of his career, moving him past Jack Lambert for the ninth most in franchise history. This is his sixth career weekly award.

The special teams award went to Goodman, who averaged 35.8 yards on six kickoff returns, including a 105-yard touchdown return, in the Chargers' 38-26 win over the Oakland Raiders. The scoring return topped Darren Sproles' previous franchise record 103-yard return set in 2008.
