Rangers strengthens hold on second place
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A late goal from Lee McCulloch helped Rangers to a 2-1 win at Motherwell on Saturday that moves the Glasgow side six points clear in second place and delays the title celebrations of Celtic for one more week.
The two sides entered Saturday's match with just three points between them in the race for second place, and Motherwell started quickly with Henrik Ojamaa firing the hosts in front after six minutes.
Things were level once more three minutes later when Steven Whittaker scored on a long-range effort that beat Motherwell goalkeeper Darren Randolph, although the next goal didn't come until the final minutes.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}It was set up by a long throw in from Lee Wallace, who found McCulloch inside the penalty area for a goal from six yards that hands Motherwell a second straight loss.
Dundee United 3, Dunfermline 0
Dundee, Scotland - Dundee United remained in good form on Saturday by securing a 3-0 win over relegation-battling Dunfermline courtesy of a pair of goals from Jon Daly.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}It took until the 49th minute for Daly to open the scoring before United went up two goals with 10 minutes remaining through Scott Robertson.
Daly then netted his league-leading 17th goal to cap the victory, which is the sixth straight for the club to move them level on points with St Johnstone in an effort to secure a place in Europe.
Dunfermline has earned only one point from its last five games and remains rooted to the bottom of the league and three points from safety.

Edinburgh, Scotland - A pair of second-half goals from Rudi Skacel helped Hearts to a 3-0 win at home over Aberdeen that secures a place in the top half of the league for the club.
Ryan McGowan headed home a corner kick midway through the first half before Skacel scored on a nice left-footed strike from 25 yards to double the advantage.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Another goal in the 89th from Skacel secured the win, which is the third in four games for Hearts.
St. Mirren 4, Kilmarnock 2
Paisley, Scotland - St Mirren brought an end to a poor run of form by notching a 4-2 win over Kilmarnock at St Mirren Park on Saturday.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The club had drawn six games and lost one in its last seven, but returned to the win column on Saturday despite going down a goal in the 13th minute to Killie's Dieter Van Tornhout.
Steven Thompson scored once in each half for the home side while Steven Thomson and Nigel Hasselbaink scored five minutes apart midway through the second half to put the home side in control.
