Rangers fall just short of no-hitter against Twins
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}ARLINGTON, Texas (Reuters) - The Texas Rangers came within two outs of achieving a no-hitter against the Minnesota Twins, instead settling for a 4-0 victory on Monday.
Twins catcher Joe Mauer lined a single up the middle with one out in the ninth against Texas closer Neftali Feliz to break up a no-hit bid that combined four pitchers.
Rangers starter Rich Harden tossed 6 2/3 innings before being taken out after having thrown 111 pitches and issuing five walks.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Reliever Matt Harrison finished the seventh, while Darren O'Day worked the eighth but Feliz could not finish off what could have been the sixth no-hitter in the majors this season.
