QPR's Faurlin out for season

QPR will be without midfielder Alejandro Faurlin for the rest of the season after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

The injury took place in QPR's 1-1 draw with MK Dons on Saturday in the FA Cup, with Faurlin being stretchered off near the end of the match and confirming the bad news on his Twitter account.

"It's bad news for me I have rupture of the ACL I'm out for the rest of the season. Really disappointed. Sad."

"Things never been easy for me. But for sure I will be back stronger. I accept this test as professional and person as well."

The 25-year-old joined QPR in July 2009 and played a big role in the club winning promotion to the Premiership this season.

He has been an ever-present in the lineup for QPR this campaign, starting all 20 of the club's matches in the league, and his absence will be a big blow for a QPR side that sits in 17th place, one point above the drop zone.
