PSG move six points clear with Bordeaux triumph
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Paris Saint-Germain stretched its lead atop Ligue 1 to six points on Friday after earning a 2-0 victory over a feisty Bordeaux side on a rainy night at the Parc des Princes.
Coming off a frustrating 1-1 draw with Guingamp last time out, Les Parisiens were determined to manufacture a better start in front of their home fans.
But early on, the champions' touch was a bit off as Bordeaux was able to frustrate the capital club effectively with superb defending and the sides went into the intermission scoreless.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}PSG continued to send numbers forward in the second half and finally earned a reward in the 58th minute as Lucas slipped past the Bordeaux defense down the right flank and sent a cross into the penalty area where Zlatan Ibrahimovic knocked it home with ease for his 18th league goal this season.
New man Yohan Cabaye made his PSG debut in the 68th minute after completing a 19 million pound transfer from Newcastle United of the Premier League and almost marked his first appearance on the Parc des Princes pitch with a goal after he rocketed a header off the post.
PSG then put the result away two minutes from time when Alex got free in the penalty area following a Lucas corner kick and fired home the goal on the half-volley. The result leaves Bordeaux in seventh place in Ligue 1 on 34 points.

Monaco had the better of the play against Marseille, keeping 54 percent of possession and firing seven shots on target before breaking the deadlock through Valere Germain's 41st-minute goal.
After the break, Monaco put the result away with a goal from Emmanuel Riviere to make it 2-0 and seal the points, pulling the side within three points of PSG for the top spot in Ligue 1.

But they were unable to hold the lead as Gergory Pujol netted an equalizer in the 52nd minute, denying Lorient its 10th win of the league campaign.
