Pienaar returns to Everton on four-year deal
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Steven Pienaar returned to Everton from Tottenham on Tuesday for $5.5 million and signed a four-year contract.
Pienaar, 30, first joined Everton on loan from Borussia Dortmund in 2007, and made a permanent switch in 2008. He remained with Everton until 2011, when he joined Tottenham.
He was loaned back to Everton last season, and has completed a permanent move back to the club. Pienaar started just five Premier League matches for Spurs, but had four goals in 14 league matches while on loan at Everton last season.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"I am happy to be here. It took a few weeks to sort out but I am delighted to be back and excited to play for Everton," Pienaar said.
"There was no doubt in my mind that I would be back here. At the end of the season I told the manager how I felt and I am happy now it is all done."
Capped 57 times for South Africa, the midfielder has scored twice for his country.
