Peterson sits again, Ponder to start for Vikings

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will miss his third straight game Sunday because of a high ankle sprain.

Peterson was hurt in the first quarter of a November 20 game against Oakland.

Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Christian Ponder, who, like Peterson was listed as questionable on the team's injury report, will start against the Lions in Detroit. Ponder suffered a hip pointer during last week's home loss to Denver.
