Person close to the situation: No. 10 LSU WR Dural in car accident, could miss Saturday's game

A person close to the situation says LSU receiver Travin Dural has stiches in his head after a weekend car accident, leaving his playing status for this Saturday uncertain.

The person spoke to The Associated Press Wednesday on condition of anonymity because LSU athletic officials have not publicly announced Dural's injuries.

Practice is closed to media during the regular season, and Dural has not met with reporters since immediately after 10th-ranked LSU's victory Saturday night against Sam Houston State.

Dural, the Tigers leading receiver, caught three touchdown passes in the game, giving him six catches for 291 yards and four TDs on the season.

The person says Dural's playing status is in doubt against Louisiana-Monroe because he may not be cleared to wear a helmet over his stitches.
