Padres select infielder Medica
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The San Diego Padres have selected the contract of infielder Tommy Medica from Double-A San Antonio, general manager Josh Byrnes announced Tuesday.
Medica, a 14th-round draft pick of the Padres in 2010, will be in uniform for Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The 25-year old hit .296 with 18 home runs and 57 RBI in 76 games for San Antonio. Medica was named the Padres minor league Hitter of the Month in July.
