Padres reportedly inquire about Braves' Andrelton Simmons

The San Diego Padres are reportedly interested in filling their need for a shortstop with one of the best defensive shortstops in the game.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the Padres have inquired about Atlanta Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The 26-year-old Curaçaoan infielder has won two Gold Gloves and one Platinum Glove in four seasons, and can hold his weight at the plate as well despite a lack of power.
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Padres aren't the only team interested in Simmons, adding that it doesn't appear as though a deal is imminent.
