Ohio State suspends Stoneburner, Mewhort
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer has suspended tight end Jake Stoneburner and offensive tackle Jack Mewhort from all team activities.
The two were arrested early Saturday morning on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business. According to the Columbus Dispatch, the two, along with a third person who is not an Ohio State player, were caught allegedly urinating in public.
Stoneburner commented publicly on Twitter Monday.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"Thanks for all the support from family, friends, and especially my teammates," Stoneburner wrote. "Love you all! Unfortunate situation, but we will over come it."
Stoneburner, a senior, caught 14 passes for 193 yards with seven touchdowns in 12 games last season. Mewhort is expected to start at left tackle in 2012.
