Ohio State suspends Stoneburner, Mewhort

Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer has suspended tight end Jake Stoneburner and offensive tackle Jack Mewhort from all team activities.

The two were arrested early Saturday morning on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business. According to the Columbus Dispatch, the two, along with a third person who is not an Ohio State player, were caught allegedly urinating in public.

Stoneburner commented publicly on Twitter Monday.

"Thanks for all the support from family, friends, and especially my teammates," Stoneburner wrote. "Love you all! Unfortunate situation, but we will over come it."

Stoneburner, a senior, caught 14 passes for 193 yards with seven touchdowns in 12 games last season. Mewhort is expected to start at left tackle in 2012.
