Nuggets add year to coach Karl's contract
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}DENVER (Reuters) - The Denver Nuggets have extended coach George Karl's contract through the 2010-11 season, the NBA team said on Friday.
Financial terms of the one-year extension were not disclosed.
Karl has guided Denver to the NBA playoffs five consecutive seasons since becoming the Nuggets coach in January 2005.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"We are pleased with the progress the Nuggets have made," owner Stan Kroenke said. "George has played a pivotal role in our success. His extension is well-deserved."
The Nuggets (35-18) are second in the Western Conference, earning Karl the honor of coaching the West in Sunday's NBA All-Star Game.
He has a 260-161 record in Denver.
