No abuse alleged in second child protection petition filed in Adrian Peterson case
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Hennepin County prosecutors have filed a second child protection petition in the case connected to Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
The Star Tribune reports (http://strib.mn/1yilNCo ) the Vikings' MVP pleaded no contest Tuesday to recklessly injuring his 4-year-old son when the boy was visiting Peterson in Texas last May.
County Attorney Mike Freeman's office said the Texas case made it necessary to open a file for each of Peterson's children who live in the Minnesota county, which contains Minneapolis and St. Paul.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}There has been no allegation of abuse involving the second child. The petition is a technicality.
The petition means the county is providing child protective case management services to two of Peterson's children. He cannot have unsupervised contact with the second 4-year-old.
Peterson's attorney in Texas didn't comment.
