No. 9 Xavier beats Dayton 63-59
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Amber Harris scored 23 points as part of a double-double, and No. 9 Xavier overcame cold outside shooting and held off Dayton 63-59 on Sunday in the Atlantic 10 opener for both teams.
Xavier (12-2, 1-0) hasn't lost an A-10 home game in the last three seasons. Harris took the lead in keeping the streak intact, fully recovered from a concussion that limited her the last three games.
The Flyers (9-6, 0-1) couldn't handle Harris, who made three consecutive baseline jumpers to help the Musketeers hold on in the closing minutes.
