Monisha Kaltenborn replaces Peter Sauber to become 1st female team leader in Formula One
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Sauber Motorsport says Monisha Kaltenborn will replace Peter Sauber at the helm of the Swiss-based team to become Formula One's first female team leader.
The team says at the Korean Grand Prix that the 41-year-old Kaltenborn, who was previously chief executive, will take over Sauber's day-to-day duties running the team.
Sauber, who will be 69 on Saturday, had previously said he intends to step back before turning 70.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Sauber, which made its Formula One debut in 1993, has had four podium finishes in 15 races so far this season, including Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi's third-place finish at his home Suzuka circuit on Sunday.
