Monaco to battle Haas in Hamburg final
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Argentine Juan Monaco and German favorite Tommy Haas won their respective semifinal matches on Saturday at the $1.1 million German Tennis Championships.
Monaco outlasted top seed Nicolas Almagro of Spain 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on the red clay at Rothenbaum Tennis Arena.
The Argentine finished runner-up to Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic in Stuttgart last weekend. Monaco has two titles this year, both on clay (Vina del Mar and Houston) and is looking to capture his sixth career title.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Monaco will do battle with Haas in Sunday's final. The German defeated fourth- seeded Croat Marin Cilic 7-6 (9-7), 6-0 on Saturday.
Haas will look to win his second title of 2012 after winning in Halle earlier this year.
Monaco holds a 3-1 record against Haas.
