EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State linebacker Ed Davis is out for the season after injuring his knee in practice Wednesday.
The school says Davis will need surgery.
Davis, a fifth-year senior, has 11 sacks in 40 career games for the Spartans. He was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection last season.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Coach Mark Dantonio says Davis' presence in the lineup will be missed, but he still will have an important role on the team and may be able to qualify for a sixth year of eligibility.
