Greg McGhee ran for three scores and passed for two more on Saturday and Howard University beat Division II Morehouse 35-17.

The defense stiffened in the second half, allowing McGhee to start drives in good field position, and he capped two with scoring runs of 1 yard and 17 yards for the Bison (1-2).

McGhee gained 98 yards on 10 carries and was 16 of 30 for 149 yards passing.

Morehouse (1-1) scored first on a 16-yard pass from Mongavious Johnson to Lake McGuffie, but it was the McGhee show after that. He ran 1 yard for a score in the first quarter, hit Justin Chaney on a 4-yard TD pass in the second, ran for two more scores in the third, and found Robert Mercer on a 17-yard TD pass in the fourth.

Johnson scored on a 6-yard run for Morehouse, and Joshua Thurston ran for the two-point conversion.
