Mason wins 25th European Senior Tour title
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Carl Mason posted a two-under 69 Sunday to come from behind and win his 25th European Senior Tour title at the Benahavis Senior Masters.
Mason finished at nine-under 204 and won by three shots at La Quinta Golf & Country Club.
Mason padded his tour record for victories and collected his second title of 2011. He captured the Open de Espana Senior in May.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}He tallied three birdies on the front nine Sunday and that gave him a comfortable advantage over the field. Mason mixed a birdie and two bogeys over the back nine, but it was enough to hoist the trophy.
Second-round leader Gary Wolstenholme fell off the pace with a double-bogey at the par-three eighth. He carded a two-over 73 and shared second place with Mark James, who shot an even-par 71 on Sunday. The pair finished at six-under 207.
Ross Drummond managed a three-under 68 and took fourth at minus-five.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Bob Cameron and Costantino Rocca both shot rounds of even-par 71 on Sunday and tied for fifth place with Mark Mouland, who had a two-under 69 in the final round. The trio came in at four-under 209.
Order of Merit leader Peter Fowler shot a one-under 70 and tied for 11th at minus-one.
