Major League Baseball signs Firestone as sponsor
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}CHICAGO (Reuters) - Major League Baseball signed a five-year, multimillion-dollar sponsorship deal to make Bridgestone Corp's Firestone brand the U.S. sports league's official tire.
The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, is a new one as baseball did not previously have a tire sponsor, a spokesman for the sport said.
As part of the deal, Firestone will sponsor in-stadium All-Star Game balloting and be involved with other activities during All Star week. It will have the right to use baseball trademarks.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Firestone said it planned to support the deal with national advertising and consumer promotions.
