Loyola (Md.) rallies to edge Fairfield 66-65
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}J'hared Hall scored 17 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer, as Loyola (Md.) rallied to defeat Fairfield 66-65 on Friday night, snapping the Stags' 11-game winning streak.
Hall's 3-pointer came with 2:03 left, then neither team could score until Fairfield's Yorel Hawkins hit 1 of 2 free throws for 64-62 with 5 seconds to go.
After Shane Walker's dunk sealed the win for the Greyhounds (7-9, 3-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), Derek Needham hit a 3 with 1 second left for the final margin.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Fairfield (12-4, 5-1) led 35-28 at halftime and pushed the lead to nine at 47-38.
Loyola then used a 16-5 run, sparked by seven straight points by Justin Drummond, to lead 54-52 with 8:34 left.
The Stags tied the game four more times, but could not regain the lead.
