Lions' LB Whitehead out, WR Jones, activate DE Bryant
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) The Detroit Lions have ruled out linebacker Tahir Whitehead against the New Orleans Saints.
Whitehead will miss the game Sunday at New Orleans because of a knee injury.
The Lions signed wide receiver TJ Jones from their practice squad, activated Armonty Bryant and released running back Justin Forsett and cornerback Johnthan Banks on Saturday.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Jones may play the Saints if wide receiver Marvin Jones is inactive because of a thigh injury that limited him in practice this week.
Bryant is back with the team after serving a three-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on substances of abuse. He signed with the Lions after being cut by the Cleveland Browns following a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
