Lions CB Bentley lost with ACL tear

Allen Park, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Lions will have to do without the services of cornerback Bill Bentley for the remainder of the season.

Bentley suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament early in Detroit's season- opening 35-14 victory over the New York Giants on Monday night. Rookie Nevin Lawson played the remainder of the contest in his absence.

A 25-year-old Louisiana-Lafayette product, Bentley recorded 29 tackles in 13 games for the Lions last season.

Detroit has yet to make a roster move to counter Bentley's absence.
