Lightning prospect Drouin breaks thumb
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Lightning will be without promising young forward Jonathan Drouin for the start of the upcoming 2014-15 season due to a slight fracture of his right thumb.
Drouin, the third overall pick of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, suffered the injury last Thursday during a training camp practice. The Lightning expects the 19-year-old to be sidelined between 3-to-4 weeks.
Tampa Bay begins its regular season in just over two weeks with an Oct. 9 matchup against Florida.
